Louis Ray Callaway

Funeral Services for Louis Ray Callaway of Winfield, MO, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield, MO. J. Larry Carter of Carter-Ricks Funeral Home will officiate with burial in St. Charles Memorial Gardens in St. Charles, MO. Serving as pallbearers will be John J. Jarboe, Guy Lee Callaway, Edward "Punky" Callaway, Roy Callaway, Casey Pearson, Dean Kersting, Reggie Clowers and Jesse "Fuzz" Piechoinski.

Mr. Callaway, 70, passed away Sunday evening, February 5, 2012 at Lincoln County Memorial Hospital. Born September 25, 1941 in St. Charles, MO, he was the son of Guy Judson and Elsie Lee Clowers Callaway. After his mother's death when he was three weeks old, he was raised by his Aunt Ruth Callaway. He was united in marriage on July 24, 1965 in St. Charles to Wanda Sue Hannar. This union was blessed with four children: Lois, Keith, David and Ty. He was a mold fabricator for Jones & Vining in Troy, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Elsie Callaway; two brothers: Jesse and Roderick Callaway; one sister, Ruby Pearson; one grandson, Kenneth Brawley; one great-granddaughter, Kailiegh Sutherland; and his beloved wife of 30 years, Wanda Callaway on May 16, 1996.

Survivors include one daughter, Lois Brawley of Winfield; three sons: Keith Callaway and his friend, Chris Czarnecki, of Gore, OK; David Callaway and his wife, Mary, of Foley, MO and Ty Callaway, also of Foley; six grandchildren: Kristi Richards and her husband, Raymond, Natalie Preston, Jena Callaway, Kevin Jeff, Ashley Stephenson and Vicki "Stormy" Howard; and nine great-grandchildren: Jordan and MacKenzie Brawley, Wendi and Hope Sutherland, Raymond Richards, Jr., Haley and Noah Howard and Nyla and Dylan Stephenson. He also leaves his father-in-law, Kenneth Hannar of O'Fallon, MO; one foster sister, Dorthea Weldon of Chillicothe, MO; two foster brothers: Gerald Hoelting and his wife, Berdell, of Foristell, MO and Charles Hoelsher; one sister-in-law, Jeanne Callaway of St. Charles; and a special "son" Paul Bishop, Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Troy, MO whom Ray and Wanda raised in their home; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
